Couples Counselling
Relationships can face difficult challenges. Couples counselling is designed to help you and your partner reconnect, improve communication, and rebuild a strong foundation. Using the Gottman protocol to couples counselling (a research-based approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman) the three of us will work to enhance intimacy and emotional connection while equipping you with tools to manage conflict in a healthy way.
The Gottman Method focuses on fostering respect, empathy, and understanding. By identifying and changing negative interaction patterns, we will work toward a deeper, more resilient bond. This structured approach includes building friendship, shared meaning, and trust, while addressing specific issues like perpetual conflicts, gridlock, or emotional disengagement.
I also draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) principles, which emphasize emotional safety and secure bonding, helping couples identify underlying feelings and attachment needs. However, the Gottman Method remains central to my work, providing practical strategies for long-term relationship success.
